“…but it’s hard to stay mad, when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst… And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life… You have no idea what I’m talking about, I’m sure. But don’t worry… you will someday.” – Lester Burnham (American Beauty)
There is so much beauty in this world, far to much for one life time to take in. There is, simply put, too much good in this world that we never hear about. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, after all look at the quote I chose. Look around you, see the beauty in simple everyday things. Appreciate life, its all you really have…
The most amazing things are the most simplest. A sunset over the ocean, the sound of a single guitar being strummed in the wind, the attraction of someone, all are incomprehensible in their beauty. Yet taken for granted by the dog-eat-dog world we claim as normal. What a sad state of affairs. If only we saw things around us as it really is, the every day amazements, then we would be truly appreciative of all this life has to offer. The fact that from a molecular level, where atoms are being held together by forces we have yet to understand, to the fact that our universe is expanding faster than the speed of light, is amazing in its own right… Its all too much and you have to let go and just accept and appreciate.
So for today, and for every day afterwards, just find one thing that is amazing, that is beautiful and just be flabbergasted that it all works. Its a good thing to remind yourself that life is truly wondrous.
Life is far to beautiful to be unhappy.
PS: This post might be a draft, or it might be completed, all I know is that I need more tea now.
