Remembering Eleven Years

On this day, eleven years ago, the entire world stopped. The world stopped to watch the symbol of the free world, represented by two towers of concrete and steel, come crashing down. In one day the world was reminded of the darker side of humanity. In one day, the course of history was forever altered.

Today we remember the events. We remember what they meant. What the outcome of these actions were. The men supposedly behind this are long since deceased. Put into early graves by the very revenge they inspired.

Two buildings and countless lives later. This is the world we now live in. So today, we remember those that gave their lives. From the fire fighters who never made it out. To the soldiers who should not have been there in the first place. And everyone in between. We remember you all. We remember the world is a very dark place.

Religious doctrine is never an excuse to do harm to any one. Nor is revenge to be used as a motivator. If there is one thing to take away, let it be this.
